- Up to 20% travel across FL, CA, NJ, IL, IN for implementations
- You’ll work in a CMMC-compliant environment with appropriate security controls
Compensation
- Base: $130K-$165K based on experience and location
- Bonus: 10-15% tied to project delivery and operational performance
- Full benefits, certification support, professional development budget
What This Role Really Is
A senior technical position for someone who loves building and securing enterprise infrastructure. You’ll design and deploy networks, firewalls, and virtualization clusters for clients in the defense industry—working across Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper, VMware, and Hyper-V. If you enjoy complex implementations, multi-vendor troubleshooting, and building things that actually work under pressure, this is your role.
Why This Role Is Exciting
- You’ll work on sophisticated, multi-vendor infrastructure—not cookie-cutter deployments
- Defense clients mean real security requirements, not checkbox compliance
- Direct project ownership from design through implementation
- Your expertise in routing, security, and virtualization all come together here
- Small team environment where your impact is visible and valued
What You’ll Build and Manage
- Networks: Enterprise routing/switching across Cisco and Juniper. BGP, OSPF, segmentation strategies, high availability designs.
- Security: Palo Alto, Juniper SRX, Cisco Firepower—firewall policy, VPNs, threat prevention, zero trust architectures.
- Compute: VMware and Hyper-V clusters on Supermicro/Dell/HPE hardware. Failover clustering, storage integration, performance optimization.
- Automation: Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell—infrastructure as code for consistent, repeatable deployments.
- Compliance: Configurations that meet CMMC Level 2 and NIST 800-171 requirements. You’ll understand why the security matters, not just check boxes.
Who Thrives Here
Someone who:
- Has 7+ years building enterprise infrastructure across network, security, and compute
- Holds an active CCIE (or within suspension period) and wants to use it
- Works comfortably across Cisco, Juniper, and Palo Alto without vendor tunnel vision
- Has deployed VMware or Hyper-V clusters on real hardware, not just labs
- Understands that documentation and automation aren’t optional
- Communicates clearly when things break and knows how to fix them systematically
- Finds satisfaction in building infrastructure that meets genuine security requirements
